SLO Climate Coalition is a passionate group of volunteers committed to environmental justice, high-impact climate solutions and economic vitality – all while achieving a carbon-neutral SLO. Their mission is to empower those impacted by the climate crisis and support regional climate initiatives that provide clean transportation, help residents reduce their carbon footprint, and now, with PoweredUp Network, ensure equitable access to solar power and storage.
We partnered with Santa Barbara Clean Energy, an initiative run by the City of Santa Barbara, to create the Santa Barbara Home Power Program and help the city reach its goal of 100% carbon-free energy use. The program brings complete smart home energy storage systems to homeowners, regardless of means. Santa Barbara Clean Energy also offers a number of other incentives and programs to help make electricity, gas, transportation and waste more environmentally friendly.
The City of Goleta is committed to reducing energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions, with a goal of 100% renewable electricity supply community-wide by 2030. In 2015, the city streamlined the permitting process for residential solar systems to remove barriers and costs, and recently partnered with PoweredUp Network to help improve energy sustainability and resiliency. Together, we’ll advance the city’s goal of protecting quality of life and minimizing its contribution to climate change.
